home church FAQs

  • How do I find a Home Church?

Click here and follow these simple steps!

    1. Type in your address, city, intersection, postal code in the space provided or if you know the name of the Home Church you are looking for, enter that in the space beside it.
    2. Uncheck the boxes for the days you can't make it out to a Home Church.
    3. Click Search.
    4. You will now see a list of Home Churches in your area as well as a map. Click more info... to, well..., get more info.
  • Do I need to call ahead and tell someone I'm coming?

Nope! You can just show up. You may wish to call ahead during holiday seasons to see if the group is meeting that week, or just to see if there’s a potluck or something awesome but out-of-the-ordinary planned.

  • What do I bring?

If you own a Bible bring it along but it’s not your ticket in! There are no tickets. We do spend time reading the Bible (we want to make sure Bruxy isn’t making things up). Hosts often have extra Bibles or you can share. Otherwise just bring yourself. Some Home Churches have a rotation among people to bring a snack, but you don’t have to do that, certainly not right away.

  • Can I bring my kids?

If the listing on the website or Home Church map and info sheet at your Info Desk says “Family Friendly” in the details section, bring the kids! There will be security-cleared volunteers to provide care for your children in another room separate from the other adults. If the group is not listed as “Family Friendly”, children older than babies in arms do not attend, or if they do they stay in the same room as the adults for the whole evening. You may wish to discuss beforehand with the leader what arrangements other parents who attend that group make for childcare.

  • I’m a (man/woman/twenty-something/young parent/mid-fifties/divorced) and am looking for a group with other (men/women/twenty-something/young parent/mid-fifties/divorced).

We believe that people in different life stages have a lot to teach one another. We prefer to base Home Churches on geography but sometimes groups will naturally lean towards a certain demographic. Any designated Home Churches (such as young adult) are listed on this website.

  • Will I have to pray in front of people?

Only after the dance competition – just kidding! There is NO expectation to pray aloud.
