To be a community that actively seeks opportunities to serve our local partners in East Toronto.

Local Partners

Mercy City Church
Mercy City serves the Dawes Road community of East Toronto. Their ministries include camps, after school programs, family nights, community dinners, and Sunday services with the goal of sharing the gospel and building relationships.

Opportunities to Serve:

  • Homework Club - Every Thursday from 6-7:30pm. No training or experience necessary
  • Community Potluck Dinner Services - Sunday's at 5pm.  Bring a dish and join in the community celebration. Upcoming dates are: Jan 20, Feb 24.
  • More @4 Bible Study and Prayer Time - Sunday* from 4-5:30pm.  Dig deep into the Word together through meaningful discussion and prayer. *Only on Sunday's when there is no Potluck Dinner Service
  • Morning Prayer -  Every Tuesday at 9:30am. Prayer requests welcome

Red Door Shelter
Since 1982, the Red Door has provided services for families and individuals who need safe and supportive emergency shelter. They have grown to be one of the largest family shelters in the city, providing shelter and support to over 500 families every year.

Opportunities to Serve:

  • Starter Kits - These are kits for families as they move out of the shelter.  Bring items on the list here to church and drop them in the Red Door Shelter collection bin
  • Starter Kit Driver - Help deliver kits once a month to the Red Door Shelter. Contact Jeff Quinlan for more info (see info below)

Glen Rhodes United Church
Founded in 1906, Glen Rhodes United Church serves the East Toronto community through Sunday services, a monthly community dinner, and weekly food bank. The Glen Rhodes community seeks to be authentic disciples of Christ by offering hospitality to anyone who walks through their doors.

Opportunities to Serve:

  • Community Dinners - 4th Monday of the month starting at 5PM.  Come eat, serve and hang out! Upcoming dates: Jan 28, Feb 25, Mar 25, Apr 22, May 27, Jun 24.
  • Community Food Program - Wednesdays from 9-11:30am or 2-4:30pm
